Everything You Need to Know About the Winter Park Alpine Slide

Take a Ride

No matter where you look, you won’t find a slide quite like the one at Winter Park Resort. With 3,000 feet of track, it’s the longest Alpine Slide in Colorado. The slide is over 600 vertical feet high, and getting to the top is an experience in itself. Grab a seat for a six-minute, scenic chairlift ride on Arrow and enjoy views of the Rocky Mountains and downtown Winter Park.

Equipped with a brake, you’re free to control the speed of your cart as you see fit. You can push your velocity to the limit, or take it slow — especially around certain turns. The tracks offer a smooth ride with views of the park and the wind rushing through your hair. It’s the perfect opportunity for some family-friendly fun this summer!

Schedule and Ticket Information

Winter Park Resort is open each summer from mid-June through September. Until Labor Day, feel free to visit from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Friday and Saturdays. For the rest of September, you can enjoy the park on weekends.

Are you interested in getting your Winter Park Alpine Slide tickets? The cost of a single ride for ages six and up is $20, and $6 for ages five and below. Keep in mind that adults must ride with children under five, and children under two are not permitted on the Slide.

If you’d like to experience the Slide multiple times, we recommend purchasing an Unlimited Adventure pass. For just $49, you can race as many times as you’d like and even check out additional summer activities.

With an all-day pass to the resort, you can enjoy a marathon of Alpine Slide rides in succession, or explore these additional activities. However you choose to use your time, you’re sure to have a full day of fun.

Enjoy views of lakes, creeks, and forests. “Krummholz” refers to the space below the timberline where you can see short, twisted trees shaped by years of icy climate. Near the top, you’ll see a variety of additional plant life, including magnificent wildflowers in the summer months.

Hiking Tips

We want to make sure you have the best experience possible here. Keep these tips in mind when you embark on your adventure! Remember to hydrate and bring plenty of extra water. (Dehydration can be severe at high altitudes.) Check the weather report to ensure clear conditions, but also be aware that sudden thunderstorms are likely in summer.
