The most popular place to skate in Winter Park is the outdoor Village Ice Rink, located in the heart of the Village at Winter Park. It’s open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the ski season. Bring your own skates or rent a pair from Winter Park Resort Rentals, conveniently located adjacent to the pond. Then, after a few laps around the rink, head over to Cooper Creek Square for fabulous shopping and dining options.
Are your ice skating skills a little rusty? There’s no need to worry. The Village at Winter Park Resort offers free lessons every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. This is a great opportunity for adults and children to glide across the ice with the help of a seasoned instructor. Lessons are available from December to March.
Fraser Valley Sports Complex
If you’re looking for even more ice skating fun, check out the Fraser Valley Sports Complex. The 40-acre park is home to a naturally-frozen, NHL-sized ice rink known as the Ice Box. The rink measures 200 feet by 85 feet and is partially covered to provide some relief during the cold months. Check the schedule prior to your arrival.
